Remember that awesome KTM Duke 790 concept at the 2016 EICMA? Well, it isn’t half as awesome now.
The bike still looks great and is similar to the new Duke 390 or the Super Duke but the ‘stripped down’ charm that made it special is lacking now. Well, it was probably too much to ask for in the first place.

2018 KTM 790 DUKE DESIGN
The bike adopts KTM’s new design language that we saw on the Duke 390 first hand. The slim fairing, aggressive seating and upswept exhaust reminds us of the concept. The exhaust is however chunkier to be in within emission regulations and proper headlight and tailpiece has been added. A large windscreen, digital instrument console and pillion grab rail can also be seen.
The bike gets dual front and single rear disc brake, along with ABS. Suspension duties are taken care off by inverted telescopic front fork and rear monoshock.
2018 KTM 790 DUKE ENGINE
Though specifics are not known, the bike’s twin cylinder liquid cooled engine will be the most powerful 800cc available, on launch. This means power figures well over 100 bhp and torque near 90 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission
2018 KTM 790 DUKE PRICE AND LAUNCH DATE
The New Duke 790 may only be unveiled late this year or early 2018. KTM obsession with EICMA hints a possible reveal there and we in India could get a first-hand look at the 2018 Auto Expo. Since KTM was not present at the 2016 edition of the Expo, it is only fitting that they bring their most impressive/expected products next year.
Release in U.K and other European countries, and USA will happen only next year. Indian launch in not confirmed yet but we are hopeful of its prospects.
